About
The DC Starlight Orchestra is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides music education and performance opportunities. This jazz big band, composed mostly of Federal employees in the Washington DC area, performs charts from the swing era to today at a variety of events, including community music concert series and senior centers.
We believe in the power of music to bring people together in spirit and in harmony and we want to share the beauty and history of jazz with you. Please join our mailing list to get information on our upcoming performances.
DC Starlight can perform as a full big band (5 saxes, 4 trombones, 4 trumpets + rhythm), little big band (four horns + rhythm), or combo (one or two horns + rhythm) to best suit the venue or event needs. Please send an email to dcstarlightorchestra@gmail.com if you would like to learn more about the band or reserve the band for a performance. We welcome adult musicians to contact us if they would like to perform with the band.
We rehearse at Calvary United Methodist Church (Arlington, VA) and are grateful for their support.
